Anton Pospisil was a bronze artist of the nineteenth century. He treated costumbrista and allegorical subjects. In this sculptural group, we come to the combat between two eagles with large wings spread and with their beaks almost touching, expressing their territorial challenge. The aggressive attitudes are endowed with great expressiveness. The author captures the emotional intensity of the moment materialized in the sharp talons and the confronting bodies that create a dramatic composition imbued with strength and fierce movement. The rock on which the confrontation takes place adds a naturalistic context and heightens the drama of the action. The piece stands out for its realism and the meticulous representation of the textures, such as the plumage and the roughness of the stone.
