After having worked in different languages and techniques, Claudia Terstappen started in ceramics after a stay in Hong Kong, which opened a world of exciting possibilities, as the artist herself expresses in reference to pieces like the one we show.

Claudia Terstappen works on the belief systems of different cultures and on the archaeology of modern science. She studied German literature and philosophy at the Heinrich Heine University, as well as sculpture and photography at the Düsseldorf Art Academy. He has lived and worked in Germany, Great Britain, Spain and the United States. His artistic work focuses on the correspondence between religion, superstition and science in relation to place, culture and time. The main inspiration for his work came from his travels to Brazil, Colombia, Canada, the United States, Iceland and Spain. She chose these destinations because of the ancestral and modern traces that coexist in their beliefs, mythical stories, sacred places and the spiritual belief that resides in each of them. In 2004, Claudia Terstappen was appointed Professor of Fine Arts at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia. She currently shares her life between Melbourne and Barcelona.
