Maryse Voisin is a French sculptor. She begins her studies of Art in Bayonne. She enters the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris. In 1968 she won the Grand Prix de Rome in sculpture with the statue entitled "Le centaure". That year was the last year in which the Prizes of Rome were awarded when they were suppressed by André Malraux. She remained a boarder at the French Academy for 5 years (1969-1973). There she was a student of Balthus (at that time director at the Villa Medici). She returns to Paris for a while, and then to the Basque Country to help her parents. She teaches at the association "Carre Libre". In the summer of 1986, while carving small alabaster statues, he meets Gilbert Froissard, who will later become his friend and pupil. In the workshop of Maryse Voisin de Bidart, the painter Martine Pinsolle also spends a period of training.
