Pair of polychrome wood carvings representing two angels mancebos. Both hold a basket on their heads and adopt a childish but also meditative gesture, expressing a great innocence. Their tender bodies and plump faces adopt graceful postures, following stylistic precepts typical of the Borromean period. Despite the similarity in the modeling of the anatomies and faces, each angel has been worked individually, differing slightly in their gestures. The pieces are worked in detail, in rounded bulk. The wings have been finely chiseled. It is probable that originally the pair was part of a larger sculptural ensemble.
