XAVIER CORBERÓ (Barcelona, 1935-Esplugas de Llobregat, April 24, 2017).

Xavier Corberó studied at the Massana School in Barcelona and at the Central School of Arts and Crafts in London. He worked in the Medici Foundry in Lausanne, where he lived a key period of his formation. He was influenced by Pablo Gargallo and Henry Moore. From 1966 to 1968 he edited series of etchings and lithographs, and has designed jewelry. He participated in the Hispano-American Biennial of 1955 and in Salones de Mayo in Barcelona, where he won the Manolo Hugué (1960) and Ramon Rogent (1961) awards. In 1963 he had his first solo exhibition in Munich, where he received the gold medal of the state of Bavaria. He has exhibited in several European countries, New York and Japan, and has works in the MOMA in New York, the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam and the Victoria and Albert Museum in London.
