BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
YASUHIRO SHITO for Cattelan, Italy.
Coffee table Model "Alien". 2005.
Brushed steel.
With signature stamp.
Discontinued model.
Measurements: 35 x 115 cm.
Captivating coffee table designed by Yasuhiro Shito and edited by the Italian firm Cattelan. Made entirely of brushed steel, its top takes the shape of a disk, with a relief in the center, and seated on a circular base support and cambered walls. The set reaches a high level of refinement, in which the imprint of Japanese art can be appreciated. The piece is inspired by a flying saucer, as we can guess from the title, which places the piece in the area of influence of space-age, as a revival of mid-century aesthetics at the dawn of the 21st century.
Yasuhiro Shito is a Japanese designer based in Italy. He collaborates with leading Italian furniture companies, including the prestigious and famous Cattelan Italia. Using sinuous curves and luxurious materials, his products are popular around the world. Shito perfectly combines comfort and style.
