BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
Sideboard, ca. 1960.
Sapele wood.
Measurements: 80 x 150 x 45 cm.
Sideboard from the 1960s, probably of Scandinavian design, which can be seen in the perfect synthesis between function and beauty, as well as in the quality of the wood, whose grains are integrated into the design and contribute to harmonize the structure. Since sapele is a lighter cross-cut variant of mahogany that creates a ribbon grain effect as it catches the light, so the front can appear lighter or darker as you walk around the piece. The structure is characterized by elegance and formal economy, seeking a visual balance between the horizontality of the drawers (with recesses as handles) and the verticality of the doors with L-shaped wooden handles. The cabinet is raised on short, rectangular feet that lighten the structure.
