This table model designed by the architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá has a great constructive quality. It consists of a triangular stretcher frame that joins the two lateral supports, made of a double sheet of wood. The rectangular top has rounded corners, which gives fluidity to the design and contrasts with the sharp angles of the structure. It was produced by Gres in the 1960s and is characteristic of the simple yet refined style that emerged from the collaboration between the company and these key design figures in pre-Olympic Barcelona.
The tandem of Catalan architects Federico Correa and Alfonso Milá, both born in 1924, were one of the most outstanding references of the Modern Movement in the second half of the 20th century. Correa and Milá followed the slogan that interior and industrial design were part of the same architectural project. Collaborators of José Antonio Coderch, they founded their own studio in 1953. Architecture of summer houses in Cadaqués, institutional and residential buildings, sports stadiums, factories and offices, interior design for the legendary restaurants FlashFlash or Il Giardinetto and singular and iconic design pieces to equip their own works and for furniture companies such as Gres.
