DESCRIPTION
EMANUELLE RICCI (Italy, 1963) for LUMINA
Galileo suspension lamps.
Metal and glass.
Measurements: 17 x 19.5 cm (108 cm height with cable); 12 x 12.5 cm (129 cm height with cable).
Pair of lamps designed by Emanuelle Ricci for Lumina. They are made with glass plates that are joined with resins finally creating a concave lens that projects the light.
Emanuele Giovanni Ricci graduated from the Higher School of Agriculture in Conegliano Veneto, studied at the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan and spent a period of training in the studio of architect Gianfranco Frattini; he then began his activity as a designer. Idealism and research are the basis of his thinking. Thanks to his studies in the field of botany, entomology and technological exploration, he is able to decode and transfer to his projects many phenomena of the natural world. In thirty years of work he has developed his own language, where the modulation of light by shapes and technical research play an important role. In 2015 he founded, with Alessandro Alberti, Enhance Vision System (EVS), an innovative start-up, which develops and patents an optical joint able to eliminate the blind spot generated by the A-pillar of a vehicle, without compromising its static safety.
