Geometry and lightness: these are the principles on which the Cannot table is based, a design that revolves around the concepts of balance and instability. Designed by Michela Catalano and Ilaria Marelli, Cannot is a low, removable table.
Michela Catalano and Ilaria Marelli have degrees in architecture and industrial design. Their professional collaboration began in 1999.Among their numerous projects in the fields of product design, communication and interior design, Catalano and Marelli created the Cannot table, which was added to the Cappellini catalog. Each of them has also accumulated vast individual professional experience. Michela Catalano has participated in numerous competitions and has worked in Italy and Chile, in addition to advising Cappellini on research and development. Ilaria Marelli has specialized as a sound designer and has participated in numerous photography competitions; she collaborates with the Politecnico di Milano for the industrial and environmental design laboratories. She currently works for Nemo, Zanotta and Bosa Ceramiche.
