DESCRIPTION
Space Age table lamp ZONCA. Italy, 1970s.
Chromed and blue lacquered metal.
It shows signs of wear from use and the passage of time as it is a vintage piece.
Measurements: 31 x 38 x 60 cm.
Table lamp of fluid Space Age design based on concave and curved lines. Of sober chromatism, its approach plays with the contrast of materials; chrome metal, opaque and shiny, and plastic, opaque but matte. Space Age is the name given to the period in which the space race was launched, beginning in 1957 with the launch of Sputnik. This fever to conquer space also reached design, and during the sixties and seventies a decoration model was developed based on an idyllic vision of the future, and everything to do with spaceships, new technologies and innovative materials.
Zonca Lighting is an Italian company specialized in the production and sale of lamps, chandeliers, indoor and outdoor lighting.
