This table lamp is inspired by the table models with spring-type foot of Ingo Maurer, who also placed the spherical lampshade in opaline on an attractive metal spring base. The author was also inspired by Japanese models.
The German designer Ingo Maurer, who specialized in the creation of lighting pieces, founded his own firm in 1963, originally called Design M. Throughout his career he has carried out important lighting projects, in places such as the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris or the Villa Medici in Rome, and has received important awards such as the Collab's Design Excellence Award, the Georg Jensen Prize, the Oribe Award and the Compasso d'Oro, among others. His designs are currently represented in the world's most important collections, including that of the MoMA in New York.
