Rustic 20th century side table manufactured in Ivory Coast, in cedar wood. Sturdy and resistant, its four legs of cylindrical section are narrowed at the base bringing lightness to the whole. The rectangular top, although with the irregularities typical of craftsmanship, presents a slight warping.

The Senufo are an ethno-linguistic group composed of various subgroups of people living in an area extending from southern Mali and western Burkina Faso to Katiola in the Ivory Coast. One group, the Nafana, was founded in northwestern Ghana. The Senufo speak the various Senufo languages. The capital of the Senufo is Korhogo, a very old village in northern Ivory Coast, dating back to the 13th century. The practices and cultural expressions linked to the balafon of the Senufo communities of Mali and Burkina Faso were declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by Unesco in 2012. On December 6, 2012, Côte d'Ivoire was added to this plurinational candidacy.
