BID HISTORY

DESCRIPTION

DAVID MARSHALL centrepiece. Seville, late 20th century.
Brass and cast aluminium.
Signed.
Slight marks of use.
Measurements: 8 x 40 x 40 cm.
The pieces by the Sevillian company David Marshall, which opened in the 1980s, "have stood the test of time and have become design classics", according to the creators themselves. For them, the pieces "must satisfy a basic sensual and sculptural concept (the need to feel, touch, caress...) and another fundamental premise: efficiency and functionality". Their star materials are aluminium and brass cast by gravity into the sand, using artisanal methods whose origins date back to Roman culture.
