BID HISTORY
DESCRIPTION
CRISTINA LAMA (Seville, 1977).
Untitled, 2008.

Cristina Lama's style is characterized by the expressiveness and speed of the stroke. She works with fresh oil, applying generous amounts of material in each brushstroke. Her paintings dispense with strict rules and traditional perspective, allowing the figures to be placed at the same level as the background or even diluted in it. Thus, the objects represented remain in the background in front of the true essence of his work: the pictorial process itself.
Throughout his career he has exhibited his work in prominent contemporary art centers, such as the CAAC in Seville, the CAC in Malaga, the Museo de la Diputación de Huelva, the MIAM in Sète (France) and the Giorgio Cini Foundation in Venice (Italy), as well as in various galleries in Italy, Portugal, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, Mexico and Canada.
His works can be found in numerous prestigious public and private collections, including the CAAC in Seville, the CAC in Malaga, the Benetton Art Spain Collection, the Julian Schnabel Collection in New York, the Irwan Pean Collection in Hong Kong, the Cordeiros Collection in Oporto and the Carragosela Collection in Lisbon, among others.
