Drawing of St. Joseph represented with the flowered rod in a sketchy way as if it were an artistic study for the composition of a larger work. The artists practiced this genre in order to learn how to draw figures that would later be the protagonists of their paintings. The positions, as well as the locations of shadows and lights, were fundamental knowledge at the time of solving, later on, their own works. This drawing was probably made with a model, so that the author was able to observe and adapt to his work the harmonic sense of the body and the movement of the human figure.
