Ramón Ribas Rius studied at the School of La Lonja in Barcelona, and in 1922 he was awarded the Masriera medal of landscape, granted by the Academy of Sant Jordi. He competed in various artistic competitions, being awarded the silver medal at the Salón de Otoño de Palma de Mallorca (1943), the silver medal at the National of Madrid (1945) and the first medal and the Duque de Alba prize at the Salón de Otoño of the capital (1952). He has works in the City Council of Barcelona, the MACBA and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Madrid.
