PERE CLAPERA I ARGELAGUER (San Fructuoso de Bages, Barcelona, 1906-1984).

Measurements: 34 x 24 cm; 48 x 38 cm (frame).
Painter, draftsman and illustrator, his style is skillful and loose, very decorative. He began in the art influenced by Ramón Casas, who lived long periods in his native town. He began his career in humorous drawing, collaborating with publications such as "Pierrot". Later on, he began to exhibit his work in Barcelona. He also participated in group exhibitions and competitions in Barcelona, as well as in the National Fine Arts Competition in Madrid in 1950. His favorite techniques were oil, gouache and watercolor. He also devoted himself to advertising drawings and illustrations for publishing houses and various publications, with special mention for his collaboration with "La Novel-la d'Ara" (1923). He is represented in the National Library of Spain and the MACBA.
