Centerpiece in hand-painted barbotine earthenware. Of German invoice (Eichwald), it has form of cup and its style oscillates between the rococo inspiration and the incipient modernism. Several putti play with a fabric that wraps like a curtain around the foot of the center. Each figure has been worked in high relief, practically as free-standing figures. The handle of the vase is decorated with a winged figure inspired by figureheads, with its lithe torso arched and attached to the mouth of the vase. Scrolls, medallions and borders are combined in intense chromaticism.

Eichwald is a region known for its pottery production, which today is part of the Czech Republic (formerly part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire and later Czechoslovakia). The Eichwald pottery factory was founded in the 19th century. It often features styles that reflect 19th and early 20th century European artistic trends, including Art Nouveau. Pieces often include intricate details and elaborate designs.
