The Schneider firm was founded by Charles and Ernest Schneider in 1911. The first had studied at the School of Fine Arts in Nancy and his brother and partner, Ernest, worked in Daum as a designer. After the hiatus of the war, the firm continued its production, leaving behind the first functional pieces and focusing on Art Nouveau art glass. From the 1920s onwards, they exclusively used the decorative technique of acid etching.
