The birth of Fajalauza pottery took place in the first half of the 16th century in Granada, especially in the Albayzín, where a type of earthenware commonly known as "Fajalauza pottery" was produced. It is characterised by its stanniferous glaze and decoration in cobalt-blue-grey, copper-green and manganese-purple-black, with decorations with vegetal motifs - with the pomegranate, birds, lacerations and heraldic motifs taking centre stage.
