Richebourg is an appellation d'origine contrôlée (since 1936) and Grand Cru vineyard of red wine, located in the Côte de Nuits region of Burgundy. The main grape variety of the area is pinot noir, and the vineyards are located in the commune of Vosne-Romanée, bordering La Romanée and Romanée-Conti in the south, Romanée-Saint-Vivant in the east and Vosne-Romanée Premier Cru in the north and west. The appellation regulations allow up to 15% chardonnay, pinot blanc and pinot gris in addition to the main pinot noir, although they are hardly ever used in Burgundy's Grand Cru vineyards. The basic wine yield allowed is 35 hectolitres per hectare, with a minimum planting density of 9,000 vines per hectare and a minimum potential alcohol content of 11.5%.
