DESCRIPTION
JUVENIA. Art Nouveau silver pocket watch. Circa 1900.
Engraved silver case with floral decoration in relief, Art Nouveau inspiration. Savonette type design with smooth inner lid and side hinge. White enameled dial with black Arabic numerals, Breguet pomme hands and subsidiary seconds at 6 o'clock. Signed Juvenia, with three stars under the name. The inside of the case back features engraved inscriptions with the coat of arms and the reference to the movement: "Spiral Breguet, Leves Visibles, 15 Rubis", highlighting the use of a Breguet hairspring and visible escapement.
Hand-wound mechanical movement with pearlized finish, decorated bridges and advance/delay regulation marked Retard/Avance. Numbered 37256 on the plate.
Representative example of early 20th century Swiss watchmaking, made by Juvenia, one of the most prestigious watchmaking houses founded in 1860 and renowned for its precision and elegance in its designs.
