DESCRIPTION

Napoleon III clock; circa 1850.
Gilt bronze, walnut and boxwood marquetry.
The dial is missing.
In running condition.
Measurements: 50 x 26 x 14 cm.
The rectangular base, raised on legs, serves as a support for the four columns and the rectangular top, with moulding, which gives its name to this type of clock. The columns are clearly classicist in inspiration, as are the vegetal scrolls that decorate the border of the metal dial, which is numbered in Roman numerals for the hours. The pendulum hangs behind the dial.
