Pérez Fernández jewelry is a centenary firm in Madrid. Its history dates back to 1914 when José Pérez, of Galician origin and its founder, settled in Madrid and set up his own business in Zaragoza Street, the epicenter of commerce at the time. In Zaragoza Street he occupied premises that since the early twentieth century had been dedicated to the jewelry trade, had a beautiful mahogany wood and glass facade, with an interior of cast iron columns and classic furniture. The jewelry store was dedicated to the sale of jewelry in gold, platinum, with fine stones or pearls. As it was usual in those years, it began with the purchase and sale of jewelry, later adding the activity of silversmithing, which ended up combining with the sale of jewelry. Mother Josefa was the pioneer in the field of silverware, since she negotiated with the sailors in Bergondo (La Coruña) and melted the stripes of their suits from which the silver was obtained.
The family boosted the business, acquiring pearls from Japan, diamonds from Antwerp..., and had exclusive designers in Paris with innovative designs.
