Trained in Barcelona, Paris and Rome, Muxart has exhibited in Europe, America, Africa and Asia, and has been awarded the Torres-García medal, the Juan Gris prize, the medal of honor at the First Biennial of Sport, the Diputación de Barcelona and the Ciutat de Barcelona. In 1991 he became a member of the Royal Catalan Academy of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi, and is currently a professor in the Faculty of Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona. He is represented at the National Art Museum of Catalonia, the Contemporary Art Museums of Barcelona, Madrid, Mexico City and Alexandria, the Fine Arts Museums of Long Island (New York) and Bilbao, the Reina Sofia in Madrid, the Guggenheim in New York and the Lissone in Milan, among many others.
