In this set of works the author offers us a composition of great naturalism, starring poultry in calm attitudes, ignorant of our gaze, next to the henhouse. Although the compositions differ from each other, in both cases the paintings present a golden and warm atmosphere, of classicist heritage, although the framing is clearly modern.
Claude Marie Guilleminet was a French genre painter who specialized in depictions of barnyards: roosters, hens, chicks, ducks, turkeys, etc. He made his debut at the 1856 Salon and participated in those of 1864 and 18663. The Fabre Museum in Montpellier holds several of his works.
