ANGEL LARROQUE ECHEVARRÍA (Bilbao, 1874 - 1961).

Formed between Bilbao, Paris, Stuttgart, Madrid, Rome and Florence, Larroque celebrated exhibitions in Austria, Germany, Mexico, Paris and London, and in Madrid he took part in the National Exhibitions of Fine Arts of 1912, 1917 and 1920, giving also to know his works in exhibitions celebrated in Bilbao. In 1921 he obtained the position of professor of the School of Arts and Crafts of Bilbao and in 1947, at the proposal of the Provincial Council of Biscay, he was awarded the Cross and Commendation of Alfonso X the Wise. He was also awarded in various exhibitions and competitions throughout his career, winning prizes such as the Diploma of Honor at the exhibition held on the occasion of the Centenary of Mexican Independence (1911), or the third class medal at the National Exhibition of 1917. Angel Larroque is currently represented in the Bilbao Fine Arts Museum, among other public and private collections.
