Painter of landscapes, portraits and costumbrista subjects, Lino Casimiro Iborra was formed in Madrid, in the School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. He began to be known in the 1880s, highlighting among his first public appearances his participation in the group exhibition organized by the newspaper "El Globo" in 1882. Two years later he took part for the first time in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts in Madrid, where he continued to show his work until 1920. In this official contest he was awarded with honorable mention twice (1892 and 1895), third medal twice (1899 and 1901), third medal consideration in 1901 and, finally, second medal in 1910. He was especially recognized for his works on mountain themes, both popular types and landscapes and animals. He combined his artistic practice with teaching, occupying the Chair of Drawing at the School of Arts and Crafts in Madrid. He is currently represented in the Prado Museum, the City Council of Badajoz and other public and private collections.
