Manuel Alcorlo was formed in the School of Ceramics, the Circle of Fine Arts and the Superior School of Fine Arts of San Fernando. He had his first individual exhibition in 1955, at the TAU Gallery in Madrid. In 1957 he obtains two third medals in the National Exhibition of Fine Arts, and two years later the Alcántara awards of the Circle of Fine Arts of Madrid and Rodríguez Acosta of Granada. In 1960 he exhibits individually at the Ateneo de Madrid, and that same year he obtains the Rome Prize, thanks to which he studies with a scholarship at the Spanish Academy in Rome for four years. In Italy he participates in various international exhibitions, such as the V Biennial of Alexandria, the Maggio Eugubino Competition (Gubbio), the IX International Exhibition of Engraving of Lubiana. Likewise, he exhibited collectively, together with the rest of the boarders of the Spanish Academy, in the cities of Palermo, Spoleto and Rome. He then made a series of study trips, which took him to France, England, Belgium, Holland and Greece. In 1998 he was appointed member of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando. Throughout his career he has exhibited in Spain, Italy, Austria and England, and is represented in the Congress of Deputies, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Museum of Drawing in Huesca, the Museum of Contemporary Art in Madrid and Toledo, the Royal Academy of San Fernando, the National Library and the chapel of San Nicasio in Leganés (Madrid).
