DESCRIPTION
Dutch baroque style table, 19th century.
Walnut root, ebony, rosewood and fruit woods (pear, lemongrass...).
In need of restoration. The key has not been preserved.
Measurements: 76 x 110 x 70 cm.
19th century Dutch table made of wood and decorated with marquetry in its entirety. Structurally, it is a piece of furniture with a rectangular top, a waist that houses two drawers and four turned vertical legs joined by a chambrana. The frame is made of slats with an undulating profile, following baroque patterns. The beauty of the piece of furniture lies not only in its curved and counter-curved forms typical of the Baroque style, but also in the profuse marquetry decoration that ornaments the frame, the legs, the waist and the tabletop. It is a highly decorative marquetry of floral and vegetal bouquets, which unites the different fruit woods in an exceptional way. The envelope has a large floral basket framed by a poly-lobed pavilion, which in turn is contained in a rectangular cartouche also decorated with floral bouquets.
