Chema Prado is an internationally renowned personality, standing out both in the field of film preservation and film production. Between 1993 and 1999, he was a member of the Executive Committee of the FIAF, establishing himself as a key figure in understanding the evolution of the history of cinema in Spain.
The celebrated actor and filmmaker John Malkovich was visiting Galicia in 2019 to participate in a cycle in tribute to Chema Prado, who was director of the Filmoteca Española. This event was organized by the Centro Galego de Artes da Imaxe (CGAI). As part of the tribute, Malkovich presented his thriller Pasos de baile, a film he directed in 2012 and in which Javier Bardem plays the lead role. This film is part of a selection curated by Chema Prado himself, made up of some twenty significant films that have left their mark on both his professional career and his personal life.
