The artist from Barbastro, José Noguero, based in Berlin, has a degree in sculpture and painting from the Escola Massana (Barcelona) and completed his training at the Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam and at the Bristol Polytechnic. In addition, he has made research stays in Rome and Naples and a stay in the Indian sculpture workshop of Lingaraj Maharana, in Orissa. Throughout his long artistic career he has exhibited his pieces, both in solo and group shows, in different cities such as Berlin, Vienna, Sao Paulo, Bristol, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Valencia, Barcelona, Lérida, Zaragoza and Barbastro. Some of his works belong to the collections of the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Reina Sofía in Madrid, the Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Málaga, the CDAN in Huesca, the ARTIUM in Vitoria, the Fundació Suñol in Barcelona, the Diputación General de Aragón, the Diputación Provincial de Huesca, the City Council of Pamplona, the Coca-Cola Collection in Madrid and the Künstlerförderung in Berlin. Among others, José Noguero has obtained grants from the Käthe-Dorsch- und Agnes-Straub-Stiftung, the Diputación de Huesca, the Fundación Marcelino Botín and the Generalitat de Catalunya. He has won the First Prize in Sculpture in the Aragonese Youth Contest of Plastic Arts of the Government of Aragon, the III National Painting Contest "La General" of Granada, the biennials of sculpture of Murcia and Almeria, the Contest of Plastic Arts of Burriana (Castellón) or the Prize end of studies of the Escola Massana of Barcelona.
