Kepa Oscoz is a Basque sculptor based in Behobie (France). He makes his sculptures (abstract and figurative) in centenary root wood. He first became interested in the art of working with this material during his travels in Morocco in the late 1980s. Since then, he has immersed himself completely in this world and has spent long periods traveling extensively in Morocco and parts of southern Europe. He seeks root woods from exceptional trees, centuries old, felled by circumstances, for environmental reasons or natural causes.
