During the Renaissance, these objects evolved as the fireplace became more and more important in homes, often dominating the main rooms. For this reason, the production of these accessories was entrusted to artists who worked in bronze to forge colorful ornamental motifs, among which spheres, cranes' necks, bells, etc. prevailed.
With the arrival of the 19th century, the twin morillos retained their original function as a support for firewood, until they became an ornamental element.
