DESCRIPTION

16th century Castilian school.
"Heads of angels".
Frieze in carved, polychrome and gilded wood.
Measurements: 8,5 x 25 cm.
Renaissance frieze of Castilian school, representing in bas-relief two seraphs surrounded by draped cloths and vegetable bouquets. The two inclined heads form a symmetrical and specular composition, the attributes of one face being reflected in the other. The frieze may have formed part of the predella or the side of an altarpiece.
