DESCRIPTION
Greyhound. Art Deco style, ca. 1920-30.
Bronze sculpture.
It has some flaws on the surface.
Measurements: 15 x 15 x 2 cm (base 1 x 12 x 4.5 cm).
The sculpture represents the elegant and slender figure of a dog, a greyhound, represented just at the moment of jumping, probably towards its prey, since it is a hunting dog breed. The elegant, elongated lines that define the sculpture are not only characteristic of the animal, but are also characteristic of a style or movement, known as "Art Deco", developed in Europe and the United States during the 1920s. It is a style defined by formal sophistication, luxury and elegance, which is reflected in sculpture, architecture and even fashion.
