The German designer Ingo Maurer, specialized in the creation of lighting pieces, founded in 1963 his own firm, originally called Design M. Throughout his career he has carried out important lighting projects, in places such as the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris or the Villa Medici in Rome, and has received important awards such as the Collab's Design Excellence Award, the Georg Jensen Prize, the Oribe Award and the Compasso d'Oro, among others. His designs are currently represented in the world's most important collections, including that of the MoMA in New York.
