DESCRIPTION
BURKHARD VOGTHERR (Germany, 1942) for Arflex.
Pair of "Felix" armchairs, design 1985.
Upholstery in black alcantara fabric. Steel frame.
Measurements: 70 x 68 x 75 cm.
The Félix line of furniture rises on four tubular legs supported by flat discs. It is a synthetic design, with clean and refined lines, with a compact structure, reduced to its essence, and a body of cushions in seat, backrest and armrests that provide comfort. Its design also plays with the contrast of qualities and textures, established thanks to the combination of tubular steel and upholstered upholstery.
Burkhard Voghterr trained in industrial design in Kassel and Wuppertal. He founded his own design studio in Munich in 1972. He specialized in the design of furniture and office equipment. He has also worked for numerous design publishers such as Arco, Arflex, Artifort, Thonet, Haworth and Wilkhahn. Among his most famous creations are the "Graph" office chair for Wilkhahn, the "Senso" armchair for Arflex and the "Flamingo" chair for Artifort. Throughout his career he received numerous awards, including in Germany the Federal Prize "Gute Form", Furniture of the Year "Schöner Wohnen", "IF" the good industrial form, "German Selection" LGA Stuttgart, "Red Dot" Essen; in the USA the "Interior Design Magazine", the "Best of Neocon" and the "Roscoe"; in Denmark the "Danske Designpris" and in Japan the "International G-mark Prize".
