Standing mirror. In the manner of HERVÉ VAN DER STRAETEN (Bretigny-sur-Orge, 1965).
With wrought iron structure.
Measurements: 176 x 52 x 35 cm.
Captivating standing mirror, with a wrought iron structure, carefully modeled to imitate tortuous and intertwined branches that support a circular mirror, a solution that seems to be inspired by the celebrated mirror works with iron and bronze supports by Hervé Van der Straeten. Sculptural quality, elegance and craftsmanship come together in this piece, also characterized by its durability.
Hervé Van der Straeten is a French furniture, lighting and mirror designer. He studied painting at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, and began designing jewelry in 1985, even before finishing his studies. He soon began working with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Isabel Marant, Christian Lacroix and ThierryMugler. He then expanded his production to furniture, lighting and mirrors in limited or unique editions, following his will to "make irregular and moving things". In addition to his own collections, he has designed the J'adore bottle for Dior, Kiss Kiss lipsticks for Guerlain and the Excess series for Cristallerie de Saint-Louis. He has also designed furniture for Roger Vivier boutiques, such as the Capsule aluminum pouf and the Passage console. His clients include Tom Ford, Marie-Chantal Miller, Steven Spielberg, Madonna1 and the Elysée Palace through Mobilier national. At the same time, many renowned interior designers have entrusted him with their projects. In 2007, Hervé Van der Straeten was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant label by the French Ministry of Culture.
