Painter and draftsman, Francesc García Vilella enters the School of Sant Jordi in Barcelona, although he will soon abandon his studies. After a period dedicated to cartoons, he began his pictorial work, holding his first individual exhibition in 1945, at the Sala Rovira in Barcelona. During these years he was also a contributor to the last issue of the magazine "Dau al Set". He participated in the October Salons of 1948, 1949, 1955 and 1957, held in the Layetanas Galleries of Barcelona, and also took part in the Hispano-American Biennial. In 1950 he exhibited in Mallorca as part of the group Cobalto 49, but he slowly abandoned the exhibition activity in our country and increased his presence abroad. Thus, he held exhibitions in Vienna (1957, 1983), Venice (1960), Paris (1965, 1979), Düsseldorf (1970), Mannheim (1973, 1978), Perugia (1974), Munich (1984), etc. His work is present in various public and private collections.
