DESCRIPTION
FELIPE CRIADO (Gijón, 1928 - 2013).
"Women", 1995.
Ink and watercolor on paper.

His father's membership in the army motivated, during Felipe's childhood, numerous transfers that allowed him to know the Spanish geography: the Pyrenees of Lleida, Santiago de Compostela (where he would finish high school) and Orense, among other places. In 1948 he met the sculptor Francisco Asorey González, who suggested to the young man to enroll in Anatomy Studies, Dissection, Anatomical Modeling and Sculpture, seeing the sculptures that the boy made as a hobby. In 1953 he entered the San Fernando School of Fine Arts in Madrid, with a scholarship from the Diputación de A Coruña. He would train as a sculptor and painter and, throughout his career, he would often work as a muralist. He would also devote himself to teaching, obtaining the Chair of Artistic Anatomy and Drawing from life at the School of Arts and Artistic Trades of Santiago de Compostela.
