Draughtsman and caricaturist, Jose Costa was formed in the School of Fine Arts of Palma, and after settling down in Barcelona he will initiate what will be a long collaboration with the principal magazines of him time, where he will publish caricatures and drawings. He frequented the "tertulia" of Els Quatre Gats, published several books of drawings and also collaborated with foreign magazines. After his death a drawing award was created with his name, and in 2005 the Consell de Mallorca awarded him its Gold Medal. He is currently represented in the Municipal Historical Archive and the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Mallorca, the Sa Nostra collection and others, both public and private.
