LUIGI ARNALDO VASALLO (Genoa, Italy, 1852 - 1906).
"La catalana".

Signed in the upper right corner and dedicated in the lower area.
With the inscription, by hand: "There is not, in all the world, more than a single person who likes the Catalan: the Catalan".
Measurements: 25,5 x 16,5 cm; 35 x 26 cm (frame).
Portrait painter, draftsman, journalist and writer, he worked for various prominent figures of the time and collaborated with various publications. In 1880 he founded in Rome the news magazine "Capitan Fracassa", and later "Don Chisciotte della Mancia" and "Don Chisciotte di Roma". In 1896 he was appointed editor of the newspaper "Il Secolo XIX". As a journalist he often used the pseudonym "Gandolin". He is currently represented at the Palazzo Bianco in Genoa.
