This porcelain dinnerware set, composed of 108 pieces, dates from the 19th century and is inspired by mythological themes. Each piece is entirely hand-painted, with allegorical scenes evoking the life of the time, such as music, arts, love and other classical themes. The 24-karat gold decoration stands out for its detailed relief work, simulating small pearls that add a touch of sophistication. Some of the plates are signed with the initials AJ. On the back of each plate is the mark: Murano Venise (written in French, not Italian), suggesting that this dinnerware was made to special order, with Italian porcelain and design made in France (although it is not certain if there were porcelain factories in Murano). The colors are vibrant, the gilding is in excellent condition and the overall conservation of the pieces is impeccable. There are no broken or missing plates. It is possible that the dinnerware was made in the late 19th or early 20th century.
The set consists of 108 pieces, distributed as follows: 12 deep plates, 36 dinner plates, 12 coffee or tea plates and 12 cups, 12 dessert plates, 1 sugar bowl, 2 fruit bowls, 1 gravy boat, 2 spice boats, 2 compotes, 2 vegetable dishes, 8 miscellaneous platters, 1 salad bowl, 1 punch bowl and 2 soup tureens.
