Before the digital era, traditional Japanese animation (also known as anime) used the technique "cell animation" or "cel animation", consisting of painting the frames meticulously by hand on sheets of acetate or celluloid. This method, predominant in animation before the advent of digital techniques, turned each celluloid into an original work of art, capturing a unique moment in the production of the series. The elaboration process was as follows: first the sketch was created and then inked on the acetate and painted by hand on this surface. The colors were applied to the back of the cell with acrylic or gouache paint, ensuring that the lines inked on the front remained sharp.
Due to their rarity and artistic value, these celluloids are not only coveted by collectors and fans of the most iconic series, but also represent a tangible testimony of the creative process of one of the most emblematic fields of animation and pop culture.

Inuyasha is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Rumiko Takahashi. It was serialized in Shogakukan's Weekly Sh?nen Sunday sh?nen manga magazine from November 1996 to June 2008, with its chapters collected in 56 tank?bon volumes. The series begins with Kagome Higurashi, a fifteen-year-old high school girl in present-day Tokyo who is transported to the Sengoku period after falling into a well at her family shrine, where she meets the half-dog, half-human demon Inuyasha. When the sacred Shikon jewel resurfaces from deep within Kagome's body, she inadvertently shatters it into dozens of shards that are scattered throughout Japan. Inuyasha and Kagome set out to recover the fragments of the Jewel, and are joined in their quest by the lecherous monk Miroku, the demon hunter Sango and the fox demon Shipp? Together, they journey to restore the Shikon Jewel before it falls into the hands of the evil half-demon Naraku.
