DESCRIPTION

Tianguping vase, China, Qing dynasty, Qianlong Period, 1736-1795.
Porcelain with enamels on cover. Rose family.
It has traces of old label.
Measurements: 47,5 x 38,5 x 38,5 cm.
This Tianguping vase from the Qing dynasty, specifically the Qianlong period (1736-1795), is a masterpiece of Chinese porcelain. Its form is elegant, with a domed body and elongated cylindrical neck, providing an ideal surface for meticulously painted decoration.
The ornamentation on this vase is characteristic of the refined fencai (famille rose) style, a glazing technique introduced in the Qing era that allowed for a more vibrant and detailed color palette. The design depicts a peach tree in full bloom, with twisted branches extending across the surface and bearing fruit. The peaches symbolize longevity and immortality in Chinese culture, while the stylized flowers and leaves evoke harmony and prosperity.
This type of porcelain is a testimony to the artistic and technical splendor achieved during the Qianlong reign, a time of great boom for Chinese ceramics. At this stage, the imperial court promoted the production of exquisite porcelains in the kilns of Jingdezhen, where highly skilled craftsmen worked under strict quality standards.
The Tianguping vase not only reflects technical mastery in the manipulation of porcelain and glazes, but also encapsulates the cultural and spiritual symbolism of China. These pieces were highly valued in both the imperial court and the export market, influencing the appreciation of Chinese art in Europe and other regions of the world. Its delicacy and ornamental richness make it a collector's item and a symbol of the power of the Qing Empire.
