DESCRIPTION

Persian Ghashghay kilim, ca. 1940.
Hand-knotted wool.
Measurements: 265 x 165 cm.

This Persian hand-knotted kilim is distinguished by its high quality. It was hand-knotted by Ghashghai nomads in the province of Fars, in southern Persia, using the best local sheep's wool. Natural vegetable dyes are used to dye the wool.
