Karachi rug, from this Pakistani region that has a rich textile heritage. In its central field stand out the red bands that trace a rhomboidal structure that organizes the underlying floral design. It has seven borders, each with a geometrically ordered fretwork that differ slightly from one another. The main border, wider, has floral motifs. The predominant colors are reds, browns, ochers, gray, black, yellow, green. Karachi carpets are known for their distinctive designs and durability. Typical patterns of Karachi carpets often include geometric and floral motifs, and are usually made of high quality wool.
