Loewe is a Spanish brand that was founded in 1892 by Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German in love with Spain who moved to Madrid to train as a craftsman in a leather workshop. Not much later, he opened his first store under the name of E. Loewe. Finally, in 1905, King Alfonso XIII granted the brand the title of official supplier to the royal household.

It was not until 1975 that the Amazona bag was created, which has become a symbol of the brand over the last forty years. It was designed by Dario Rossi and its name referred to the new era of freedom and independence that was opening up for women. Legend has it that this model was Hemingway's gift to Ava Gardner. The classic Amazona bag is made of Napa 7000 leather, one of the highest quality leathers in the world.
